Econfina fishing

Post by shoalbass »

Hey Fella's, glad to be aboard. Went to Econfina last Sunday, got 7 keeper trout on a Renegade hard jerkbait. Going back this Sunday, any recent reports? Water was cool (71) & muddy. Trout were following bait, but were reluctant to hit. Hope to hear from y'all often. Good Fishing!!

Fished a few miles south of Econfina sat.
Caught lots of trout on jigs, topwater, and livies.
I'd like to hear the story behind your screen name??

Fished out in front of Hickory Mounds Sunday, my partner & I caught 10 keeper trout, 2 -22" Reds, & a 24" Bluefish, all on topwater. Dewyafish, my screen name comes from my love of fishing for Shoal Bass on the Flint River between Vada (Co Line Landing) & Newton. I try to visit them at least once or twice a week. I know some of the other Fellas have had the honor of pulling on a nice Flint River Shoal Bass, let's hear from ya!

I love the Flint.
I mainly fish between the Crisp Power dam and Albany.
I've fished out of Newton a few times.
IMHO There is NOTHING like a shoalie on topwater.

Seatrout, I indeed do put in at County Line & go up. Best fishing is usually above Notchaway creek. Beautiful place to go, the fish are more of a bonus than the main reason for going there. River is full & muddy now, but it will definitely get better. Maybe I'll run into one of y'all up there. I'll be the fat dude in a 17' Polarkraft aluminum with a 90hp Johnson & too many rods to possibly use in one day.

Naw Seatrout, I try not to get in any water over knee deep. But there is a good chance we crossed paths down that way. Dewyafish, are you talking about the fat dude part, or love the river part??
