Mornin' to all. I am still a little new to this salt water stuff an dhave qa question about using a DOA or SWA type lure under a popping cork or CT. DO most people just drag these behind the boat with an occasional jerk/twitch of the line as you drift or are you casting these out and bringing them on a slow jerk filled retreive. I have caught some with the DOA just dragged behind with the occasional movement.
THanks ahead, light winds and godd tides to all.
Question about CTs and grubs.

I throw it out and pop, let set a few seconds, pop, pop, let set a few seconds ......... I like to change up the pops 1, 2, or 3 pops then set a few seconds
If I'm throwing topwater and the fishings slow, I'll drag one behind the boat also

I'll throw my .02 in here.
There's no wrong way to fish a CT. Fast, with several pops, slow, with soft pops. Throw it out there, pop it once and let it sit. Drag it behind the boat. Throw it out there and reel it back. Try every way you can imagine. You have to find the presentation the fish want on the day you're fishing. Put a DOA under it. Put a jig and grub under it. Put a pinfish under it. Trout will hit it if they're feeding.
I agree with Hit-n Miss's suggestion about leader length, on most days. Some days it doesn't matter.
