Put in at the lighthouse and fished around Wakulla Beach today. I was fortunate enough to boat 12 reds today (16"-26"). Lost another three. Also lucked into 1, 19" trout. All caught on Strike King's "redfish magic".
Caught 2 of the reds before lunch, and the rest between 1:00 and 3:00.
Can't wait until next time.

Very nice! Good to hear that somebody is catching fish at Wakulla Beach area. When fishing for Reds - what areas do you focus on? Does their habitat differ from fishing for Trout?
Redfish Magic lures look, at least from the Strike King website, pretty much like a Beetle Spin, right?
Thanks in advance!

Dave--Yes , BIG BEETLESPIN. Look for areas where water is flowing around or over some type of structure. For example, current flowing around or over a portion of a oyster bar, or a grassy point that extends out into a good current, or even a deeper hole situated next to a dropoff where water is flowing.
Generally, you won't catch as many trout where you find reds. However, the trout you do catch will usually be larger.
Remember, these are just generalizations and eveyone knows that all generalizations are false. (which in itself is a generalization, so .. whatever?) My head hurts.

birddog, I have a few of those Red Majic lures. Have fished them a little but with no bites. I have two questions for ya if you don't mind.
1) How were you fishing them. Steady retrieve, jiggin it, etc...
2) I have a chartreuse Red Magic and a watermelon red Red Majic, which color would you recommend?
Thanks!
