St. Marks trout

Heading down to st marks for trout this weekend, anyone have reports on any jigs they are biting right now and how the fishing is looking

The fishing there is great right now.
Most any kind of jig is fine.
The style and color of bait you choose to put on it is more critical.

If you want to bust things wide open, try live shrimp under a Cajun thunder. Use at least a 20# fluorocarbon leader 24"-28" long. Cast out and hold on !

I was hoping to head south this weekend also but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate.
FRIDAY NIGHT
SOUTH WIND 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET.
PROTECTED WATERS CHOPPY. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE SEVERE WITH GUSTY WINDS
TOWARD MORNING.

SATURDAY
SOUTHWEST WIND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET.
PROTECTED WATERS CHOPPY. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE DAY.
SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE SEVERE WITH GUSTY WINDS.

SATURDAY NIGHT
SOUTHWEST WIND 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET.
PROTECTED WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY.

SUNDAY
EAST WIND 10 TO 15 KNOTS...BECOMING SOUTHEAST 15 TO 20
KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET. PROTECTED WATERS A MODERATE
CHOP INCREASING TO CHOPPY IN THE EVENING. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS.

Last time I was out there I threw live shrimp and Berkely shrimp all afternoon, not a thing. I found the cheapest thing in the box, a Candy Corn Curltail, the hammered it as soon as it hit the water. Curtails of any color do wonders in the flats, but I'm partial to Electric Chicken, good luck!

I'll be bassin at Lake Eufaula from Sunday until next Friday. There is a big DoD tournament. Work is gonna suck! :wink: :-D

I can't speak for this weekend, but the "trout" in St Marks :lick: are hittin on Live shrimp- to -Candy Corn, Electric Chicken, Whatever presentation is what its all about. :thumbup:
