Me and two buddies put in at the Lighthouse @7:00 am despite the weather. Went east from the Lighthouse and fished all day until the rain came in at 4:00 pm. We ended up with 38 trout, but only ONE keeper. Also a bluefish and a HUGE stingray that snapped a rod before we could cut the line. We caught everything on jigs. We didn't buy shrimp, thinking that we would'nt be able to stay out very long. SWA's and Strike King 3X in electric chicken, candy corn, and chartruese.

winds 10-20
skies overcast and misty
water cloudy, 3-6 ft depth, temp. n/a
seas very choppy

We fished east of the lighthouse Tuesday and caught mostly shorts also.But a lot of them- I don't remember being in that many trout in one day. Too bad about your rod, why couldn't that have been a red or big trout instead of a ray?

I just wish we had brought some shrimp with us. I think we probably would have had a little better luck with the keepers, but it was still a good day.
The ray that broke the rod was actually snagged on one of its "wings". That was bad luck all the way around.

My wife and I hooked a big manta ray in the wing over in Pt. St. Joe bay a few years ago and followed it for 10-15 minutes before the line finally broke. But that was one of the best fights ever- on med. action spinning gear. Those things are strong!
