Econfina 5/2/2005

Post by Tod »

My dad and I went today expecting good conditions on the water, wrong again. Hit the mouth about 8:15 and the waves hit us in the mouth. First two hours were rough and the wind was blowing. Finally calmed down about 11:00 and then we started catching fish. Not many keepers but alot of fish. Caught about 70 fish but only had two keepers. Moved around looking for bigger fish but didn't find them. Good day on the water with my dad and he caught alot of fish. Maybe more keepers next time. Water temp between 67-70 fished 3-6 feet and still stained. Everything under the C/T with SWA color didn't seem to matter. When we were catching anything worked.

Good job TOD. Boy seems like that ole Econfina has been a tougher area to fish this year with the stained water hanging in there so long (IMO)
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Nothing beats a day fishing with you Dad!
Glad you had fun....even with numbers of small fish.

It's been a lot of years now since I lost my #1 friend and
fisherman....never a day fishing I don't realize I'd give
ANYTHING for another day fishing with him.
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
