Still raining Sunday morning but less wind and comfortable conditions so we headed out around 9:30. Ran out of the channel and north a couple miles to 3'-4'. Caught a pile of shorts early picking up a keeper every once in awhile. We never really found fish in anything over 6 feet but we fished within 3 miles of the channel both days. We finished the day around 6:30 under sunny skies (finally) with 9 keepers in the bin. Caught all fish on soft grubs fished on the bottom and under CT. Color didn’t really seem to matter but most of the bigger fish were caught on white w/pink tail and JR's favorite chartreuse double tail. Water temp was 68.0 - 70.5. Water is stained and visibility is slim to none past 2 feet. All in all though is was NICE just to be out!

Saturday morning was windy so we elected to drink coffee and see what the storm was doing. My father-in-law and his brother were ready to throw some bait so we headed out around 11:00. We decided to fish close waiting on the rain to move in. Started in 5'-6' feet and picked up several shorts but nothing for the chilly bin. Moved in and fished 2'-4' and caught several more shorts and finally two 17"ers for the bin. I threw Top Dogs and Spooks but topwater action was "zero". All fish were caught using CT and 24" of mono leader with plastic grubs. We did manage one small Spanish Mac that went back in the drink. The storm moved in late afternoon and we made it back to the house just in time.
