A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
You cover the area better and when that dam pelican dive bombs a school of mullet 5 foot behind you.....You can unload your shorts easily and keep fishing ....If I have any cat in me, I lost a life today, that sucker scared the scrap out of me....Dam pelican....
Had a mullet cast netter offer me a nice trout and red, guess he thought I wouldn't catch anything.....

This reminds me of the attack of the killer manatee....when I was a college student in the 70's I use to fish the Indian and Banana Rivers for seatrout....all wade fishing going spot to spot in my vintage VW bug....I was quite a ways from shore and had caught what today would have been considered monster trout when the water behind me seemed to explode.....I whipped around stepped in a hole and took an unscheduled dunking only to find that a manatee and calf had come to the surface maybe six feet behind me. I dropped my rod....scrounged around the bottom for it....and...you guessed it....there was a seatrout on impaled on a motor oil trout tout....it was a small trout by east coast standards....and the manatee and calf moved on and never knew I was there.....to this day I can't help but laugh at the "attack" of the killer sea cow.
