BottomLine Depth Finders

Post by FindingNemo »

Has anyone owned or had problems with BottomLine depth finders? My Tournament 480 works great until I run in the shallow flats and then it reads 1.7 to 2.0 feet even though I know its deeper. If I head out into deeper water and reset the machine, it works fine again. Anyone have any ideas?

Try reducing the gain when in shallow water.
What was I supposed to do today?

Good idea....I had planned to play with the gain to see if it helped. A co-worker fishes with a friend who has a Humminbird Chartplotter/Sounder that is doing the same thing which suggests it might be the settings on the machines and not the hardware itself. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey guys....need more ideas...now will not read anything but 1.7 to 1.8 but shows profile underneath and top line of "bottom." Does not even adjust for deep water. Have tried adjusted range, gain, and double checked transducer....no help. E-mailed Bottomline tonight. We see what they say.
