ME and WHAT'S HIS NAME LOADED THE COOLER
We left the Lighthouse about 8am. It was already a good day because WHAT'S HIS NAME paid for breakfast. We headed across the river to the spoil bar and started catching trout. Because this was an attempt to see if WHAT'S HIS NAME Could catch fish---OR NOT and to show him some REAL fishing holes. We moved from spot to spot. We caught fish in every single spot we stopped at, although one of the spots it was a CATFISH,(not mine). From the spoil bar we went to Bermuda Beach, trout and mackeral. Then to THE HUMP. Trout, ladyfish, pinfish, ladyfish, blue runners, ladyfish, ladyfish. Then to Peters Rock trout, pinfish, ladyfish, ladyfish, trout, mackeral, ladyfish. Then to Lucky 13 trout, mackeral, pinfish, trout, trout, etc. Then to Cobb Rocks, trout, trout, trout. All this time I am fishing with NO BAIT so that WHAT'TS HIS NAME can catch fish without being distracted by me. He finally caught on to me fishing with no bait. After a lame excuse I started fishing for real.I saw this was destroying WHAT'S HIS NAME'S confidence. Therefore,a new plan. I started backlashing every other cast and taking lots of time to pick it out. He (WHAT'S HIS NAME) soon caught on to that ruse also, asking why I spent so much time messing with backlashes when I had 8 more Rods already rigged. Without a good answer I picked up another rod and started fishing for real again. Much to his(WHAT'S HIS NAME) dismay I resumed outfishing him all over again. We worked our way in towards 4 pole still catching trout, flounder, remora, blues etc.We then moved out near Shark Rock still catching trout, troutand trout. After that we went towards Greymare Rock where we caught trout, trout and then a few trout. At this point in time I'm down to about 3 Coors Light so the rest of the holes are a little blurry.
If he has guts enough to admit who he is (WHAT'S HIS NAME)I'll let him report the total catch and size for the day.

You said a mouthful there. It was worse than taking a novice 5 year old.Baiting his hook, taking the fish off, untangling his line, opening his beer. The good news is the reels are anti reverse. That helped, but, I did have to keep reminding him to keep the reel up and wind forward. The other good news is that he is potty trained, I never once had to help him with his zipper.
Yes to your question: I had to put him on the good holes. He would never survive in the real day to day fishing world.

Don't assume anything. I'll I will say publicly is that it was the 1st time I had to fish with him.Littoral wrote:Nice report and story. I assume you and What's His Name actually enjoy fishing together.
JT looks to be the better fisherman though.
Damn it. He's got me so messed up I can't even put together a coherent sentence.

Alright, the gloves are off!
Mr. Jumptrout said he would take me fishing, but if I ever told anyone he took me, he would have to commit suiside. He said his reputation would be ruined forever.
We did enjoy a good breakfast. That was the high point of the day. We got on the water about 8:00. As we idled out of the canal at the lighthouse, he held something out, and said, "Here, put this blindfold on, so you can't see, and put this sack over your head, so no one knows who you are. I asked if he would at least tell me the general area we were going. He said we were going to Bermuda!
We went to numerous spots during the day. I knew he was backlashing his reels a lot. No one would use that kind of language unless they were picking out bird nests.
His description of my day is reasonably accurate. He did have to help me with my reels. He did have to open my beer. It's very difficult trying to fish with a blind fold, a sack over your head, wearing 3 pairs of gloves, one hand tied behind you, and lying on the boat deck. He would alow me to stand up, and take the gloves off of 1 hand when I had to relieve myself.
I really don't know who caught what. He would catch something and tell me it was a keeper trout. I would catch something and he would tell me it was a blue, or a catfish, or a pinfish. Now, when fighting a trout, the trout usually comes to the surface and flops around. A lot of the fish I caught did just that. I didn't hear many of his fish on the surface.
I'm not sure who caught what, but when we got back to the canal I was allowed to take the gloves, bag, and blindfold off. I looked in the box and found 10 nice trout, and 2 decent Spanish.
All I can say is it was quite a day.

What was I supposed to do today?
