Daytona Bch spots from land?

Post by Woodburn »

Im leaving for Daytona Beach for a conference today thru Friday and was wondering if anyone knows of easy access places to fish from land.

We're staying on the beach so shore fishing is an option, there's a pier in the area, and Ponce inlet is 5-10miles south. Any suggestions or other spots?

Many thanks

There should be something biting off that pier, if the wind and waves aren't too rough. Or you could try shrimp on bottom in the surf.

I would try looking for a state park nearby, you can rent canoes or boats for fishing. Try this link http://www.floridastateparks.org/FindaP ... st=Central

Thanks ya'll

There was a pier within walking distance and folks were catching blues and small shovelhead sharks the evening we arrived.

The next morning, we drove down to the inlet however nothing was biting off the jetty so tried the backside where an old man was catching blues using mullet. We had shrimp but didnt have any luck. If we had a cast net we could have gotten plenty of finger mullet though. (doh!)

That evening, we fished from shore with sandfleas and caught one Pompano. (yay!)

The last evening we tried the pier and caught two blues and a sand shark. Notice I said "we caught" since I didnt catch jack hehe... I had a few bites off the pier, that was it.

I had a great time for a conference though
