Hi all,
After my success last week my Dad came down from South Ga. to try for some cobia. We left the fort at about 9 AM, headed to the flats for pinfish and from there to Rotary Reef. The wind was blowin and the seas were rough, but we finally made it. I anchored over a spot showing lots of fish, and the bite was on immediately. My Dad cought this puppy almost immediately

It was short at 30 inches FL, so back it went. We proceded to catch a variety of fish including one ramore, one short red grouper, several short gag grouper, one nice trigger, and one hardtail. The next bottom pinfish bite produced this smaller cobia which was also returned unharmed.

My dad also hooked up with a very nice cobia on light tackle, but we lost it at the boat due to a broken steel leader. The constant bending back and forth must have weakened the wire.
Anyway, a thunderstorm chased us all the way back to St. Marks, and we got soaked before I could put the top up. The rain having stopped we decided to fish the flats the last hour before high tide. We immediately started catching trout ending up with three keepers 19-22 inches. Here I am with the two I cought.

All in all a good trip, and my Dad got to catch a cobia.

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Sir Reel,
We caught the trout on live shrimp and SWA electric chicken on a jighead.
