Put in around 8:00 at the LH. High tide supposed to be at 10:45am...lots of water everywhere. Had a buddy with me who hadn't fished since he was in grade school and I was hopin' to get him hooked on some good fishin. Ran up the East River for a bit. Nothin'. Ran west towards Kitchen cove area and out in some spots that looked grassy. Hard to tell what the bottom looked like over there. Water wasn't very clear, from what I've seen so far. Hooked onto what looked like a +25" trout that threw the hook at the boat. Not much luck over there though. Fished several spots out from Sprague. Not much luck. Decided to try West of the LH, as I've never been that way before. Fished several places out in front of the LH and finally found some really good looking water to the west. Water there was much clearer and about 4' deep with lots of grass. I snagged a good number of shorts in there and my buddy was able to get a couple. Wind and chop picked up for a fun ride back in around 3:00.
Total for the day:
2 catfish
2 ladyfish
0 keeper trout
9 shorts
1 small shark
1 ambitious pinfish that hit a pink suspending lure

It seemed like we couldn't hit the right lure combination today. The CT worked *alright* but the bite never seemed to be 'on'. Tried all the colors I had and just about every lure combination. :smt017 Fun day on the water though and managed not to hit anything with the prop this time around.

WTG Dave-

Most folks would have given up after the first "nuthin"...
They are out there, you just have to hunt them down... :-?

Did yu hit any oyster bars or sand bars or
bust or loose anything on the boat? :-D

With all the rain we've had , you need to run a ways to find clean water, but if it was me, I'd be looking in the creeks and behind the islands right now

MJ - Actually managed to get in and out today without smackin' into anything. :-D I 'm sure that's not the norm though... Looks like I'll be heading out with dad on Sunday and I'm sure there will be a bar with my name on it..

Wev - We didn't run all the way to Patty's and Tom's Is. today, maybe we should have... GPS batteries were shot and kinda ran around with guestimated distances most of the day.
