Anybody know the weight of a Johnson 35 HP............

Post by gman »

from the mid 80's? It is a regular shaft and electric start. My dad wants to replace this "well used" motor with a new one but the four strokes are so much heavier he isn't sure what would be OK. The boat is a 13' Boston Whaler. Any ideas? Also , who makes the best small 4 strokes?

If your considering a 4-stroke, take a look at a Suzuki. They are offering a 6 year warranty. I think it is free. If it isn't, it costs about $4-600. I have the 200 4-stroke and love it.

30 HP Suzie weighs 209 pounds.

There is a great Boston Whaler forum located at continuouswave.com
You can find out anything you want to know about repowering a 13' Whaler and how well it worked at that forum! Happy hunting!
