Carrabelle 6/18/05

Post by birddog »

Left Carrabelle Marina around 7:30 a.m. and headed SE off the east end of Dog Island. Ended up running 30 miles to the SE fishing holes along the way. Ended the day with 6 keeper grouper to 24" and 4 keeper red snapper. Caught a dumptruck load of short grouper and caught short Amberjack til we ran out of live bait.

Found a real nice thunderstorm about 2:30 that made things interesting for a while. Back at Carrabelle Marina by 5:30. Can't wait til next time.

We did about the same thing Sat. We were south of V Tower when we started high tailing it to Carrabelle. Too bad it was just pushing us into the nasty stuff coming from the west.

Glad it didn't get any worse than it did. Took us nearly 3 hours to get back inside Dog Island. 4 guys hudled behind one center console trying to avoid the bb rain to the face

8 red snapper, 3 grouper, and 1 king. Sure would have liked more fishing time.
