Bobby must use a wheal chair, but that doesn't damper his love for fishing. He was unable to cast far enough so I did that for him on each cast. And on almost each cast he reeled in a trout.
He really got excited when he saw the fish near the boat fighting, so he reeled harder and brought them in.
Curt is blind and is a bass fisherman as well. Curt had no problems at all with casting. He stood at the front of the boat on the starboard side and let her rip. He could cast a mile. He fished bottom lures being unable to see a CT. He caught them, hooked them, hauled them in and took them off the hook.
Curt is quite a big fellow and could have handled any kind of fish.
We left from my house at OYSTER BAY, and fished for about four hours. I highly recommends to all of you, the next time HELPING HANDS needs a helping hand get out there and help. It was great fun.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF FISHING

We left with one hundred and eighty one other boats. Most were 50 to 60 ft. long. Some were smaller but not many as we fished between 50 and 100 miles out in the ocean. Entry fee for each bost was $11,500.00
Our first day we fished aboard a 53 ft. OCEAN "The Office" It threw a valve coming in that first day so we made arrangements to find other boats. Not easy. We fished two more days with Capt. Benny on the DOODLE Then with Capt Ed on the BEAGLE, both HATTERAS type boats, 60 ft, long.
Leave early, run out several hours and fish from nine Am to three PM.
The Marlin category in the BIG ROCK is where the big money is. This year all of the Marlin brought in
were over or near 550 lbs. The winner, a lady won almost $700,000, the second place won almost $250,000.00 and the third place took in around $165,000.00.
There was prizes for catch and release bill fish, sport fish as well as points accumulated each day.

Boats were allowed to fish four out of six days, your choice. We caught lots od DOLPHIN. Some were in schools and were chasing bait fish and were coming out of the water behind the boat.
Fishing was fun and coming home each evening was in itself a reward.
Only to rest up to go out another day.
