Started out, as usual, fishing around the mouth of the East River. Tried several known 'spots' for trout but no luck. Moved further upriver and started tossing a Redfish Magic at some of the bars. On my third cast since switching from trout gear hooked up with a great 18" red.

Looked at some more bars in that area but no luck. All I found was a manatee: 'nature's D student'. Slowly crawled out of there trying not to smack any of the dozens of bars and headed East past the LH to the grass.
Did two drifts - the first was too close in and got only one short. Moved out a little further and started drifting back in. That was the only drift needed for the rest of the afternoon.

Total for the afternoon:
6 shorts
2 15" trout
1 17" trout
1 21" trout
1 18" red
1 ladyfish
They're still liking the clear DOA shrimp under the CT. Redfish was caught on a white Redfish Magic. As for the radio antenna - I tried a radio check but got no response. Did listen in to a vessel with motor trouble attempt to get a tow in by the CG. So at least the radio can receive.
