Alligator Point 6/24/05

Put the boat in near Alligator Point at 7:00am. I was with the guy with the Spiderman (zebco 202). Let's just cal him Spiderman..... He didn’t bring it this time because we were headed for the Dog Island Reef to find some Spanish. When we got to the Reef, we were sitting in 4’ swells with 7-10 seconds between. The 15 mph winds kept a few occasional 2’s that were smacking the boat. It was difficult to stand up with out grabing a rail. First hook up was a Catfish. We sat on the reef for a while and trolled around it some streatch 25’s with no success. About 10:00 my buddy said he was not feeling to well so we decided to try the flats and get Spiderman out of the swells. The swells were smaller a the flats so we threw live shrimp under CT’s and free lined shrimp and only attracted a few catfish and other bait thieves. I switched to a 4â€

Saw spiderman today and he has fully recovered and is ready to go fishing again. He refuses to take drammine. Went out again Saturday and took the family to St Teresa. We were whipped by 20mph winds out of the east and a 2-3' chop. Put the anchor down in the sandy shallows and snorkeled with the kids. The chop has stirred the water up just enough to make it a bit cloudy. We still had a bunch of fun in the sun.
