Thanks for this forum. Have logged on many times just to read the great info. However, after a couple of years of trying to figure out the above mentioned contraption, I am in need of assistance or an increase in IQ. Despite having the owner's manual and trying to follow instructions, I still basically use it for a depth/fish finder which is an insult to the machine. I am not alone in this. Invariably the anglers at the ramp and I have the same conversation. "Ya know how to work this thing?" "No." So what's up with this? Are 50% of us too stoopid to use it or is it something else? Does anyone know if there is a course in the use of this machine or am I forever doomed to rambling around to find my favorite spots, none of which are referenced on any charts? Should I just shoot it and get a Magellan handheld which served me well for about 3 years. It was totally intuitive and I had routes and tracks and my spots marked. This thing is a total puzzle to me. Hep me if you please.

Thanks to all for the advice. I guess at one point I'll break down and get the video. Until then, I'm landlocked (broken prop blade, irreparable, and lost ignition key, the backup the dealer gave me doesn't fit, but he'll make me whole on that). Until all this happened last week, I was busting up some trout big time just south of Patty's Island on live shrimp, DOA shrimp, frozen shrimp, just about anything you threw at 'em. One of the best early summer fishing I've experienced in 6 years. Anyway, gracias amigos.

I've had one for 15 months and can finally operate it fairly
well. You are right it is not to intuitive and the manual stinks. I can probably help you but will have to have mine operating in front of me. PM me your phone and I'll call you back and see if there is a time I can get in my boat and tlk you thru it. I use mine for navigating to reefs, other marked spots and for marking my track during a day's fishing. It came in really handy last year navigating back up river in a blinding rain storm with vision limited to about 50 ft.
