Re
I know I can get one that cheap, but I can do just fine with a used fiberglass one at maybe half the price. I'm thinking if someone turned in their old fiberglass one for one of those expensive top-of-the-line ones they may want to make a few bucks from it. This is something I'm just going to try out, so I don't want to spend much.

Re: Re
Well heck, if you're just wanting to try it out you can borrow one, or both, of mine. I've got a 5' and a 7'. As long as I'm not using them on that particular day, you're welcome to them.jnelson789 wrote:I know I can get one that cheap, but I can do just fine with a used fiberglass one at maybe half the price. BTW- Those "expensive" ones aren't much more than a cheap one. If you do decide that polespearing is your thing, you can get an awesome one for about $70. I wish I'd known that before I bought my 7' one, which set me back almost $40.
That's ok, though, since I have plans to sacrifice my polespear on the altar of a big AJ this summer. Just for giggles. (Well, I hope to stone the sucker but, if not, it'll be a wild ride.)

Pole spear
If you havn't found a ploe spear by the time I return from South Florida, in two weeks, call me and Ill tell you how to build one, better than store bought for almost nothing. I've been making them since 1955, and have shot very large fish.
See you on the water,
Charlie

Re: Pole spear
I'd like to know how to build one Capt. Charlie. Maybe when you get back, you could post the instructions.CAPTAIN CHARLIE wrote:If you havn't found a ploe spear by the time I return from South Florida, in two weeks, call me and Ill tell you how to build one, better than store bought for almost nothing. POLE SPEAR
I'm fishing out of Light House Point this week. Sword fishing at night.
Should return soon. I'll do a drawing how to build one.
See you on the water,
Charlie
