scallops anyone?

Post by pennfish »

we spent the weekend of the 25th at steinhatchee fishing and checking out the scallop situation. Pepperfish keys was the hot spot last year for us and there may be some there now but we couldnt see the bottom in 3ft of water :smt011 and where we found water clear enough to try no scallops. I did manage a couple limits of trout to 25" jumped a tarpon about 4 or 5ft long on a pinfish, also had a school of big bully reds crash the party for about 30 sec. they crunched our thunders flat beyond useable condition, stole our jigs , left us wanting more and knowing we just got spanked. Gonna join the herd at st. joe in the mornin Im trying to find some scallops for a youth group trip in a couple weeks any info would be valuable, thanks.
