Me and Fisherman 989 went out of Aucilla this morning trying for trout. Greeted at the mouth by 2 footers, we carefully tried over to the east and found nothing. Went over to the rock garden area an hour later, took 45 minutes running slow in the rough water. Set up a drift in 4 ft. and got several shorts, 2 keepers. Stayed in the same area all day and ended up with 7 good trout to 18''. Had the 8th one in the boat minus 5'' of his tail thanks to a hungry shark. Got them on white/firetail grubs and live pinfish. The live pins got the most fish, some when it first hit the water. Quit at 2:30 pm with storm clouds headed our way from inshore. Made it out without getting rained on, rained all the way to Georgia.
Felt good to find some good fish. :smt004

Good job DR. I assume those "two footers" were waves and not trout! But I thought it was supposed to be "smooth" today! Uh oh. I hope it won't be that way tomorrow morning: I am trying to take the 13'er to Dog Is. tomorrow..... :smt120
