Post by finniefish »

Did not get to go out yet do to issues with my travel trailer and we need it for vacation next week. Planning on heading out tomorrow.

Anyone scalloping? If so give us a report. Water depth approximate location?

we brought a half gallon cleaned from st. joe sat. the shells are small but thick so the meat is pretty good in size, not like a pencil eraser. it is fishing so you will need to search for the spots where they are more plentiful, good luck :thumbup:

St. Marks=Bupkis
Spent all day freediving and scubadiving for a grand total of ONE SCALLOP. Needless to say he was released.

We went to the flats all over the place depths ranging from 2' to 11.' Anyone know of a place near St. Marks that's having a good turnout?

Lanark=Decent
Scallops are fairly thin and hard to spot in the grass, but are already pretty sizeable. Don't worry about the bag limit!
My take (three snorkelers all morning) was about fifty scallops or about a fifth of a quart jar shucked.
