It started out like any other Fishing trip I have taken in the summer. I didn’t have any real expectation; I just wanted to have some one on one time with my daughter Shelley. This time I was sure to take the camera, but unfortunately I left both the drift sock and the landing net at the house. Put the boat in at the lighthouse around 7am, and met a couple fishermen who couldn’t get their Yammi started. As I was pulling away from the ramp, they were putting their boat back on the trailer. Just for kicks we started fishing in front of the lighthouse with no bites. Cranked up and headed to my spot south of the rock garden in 6’+ feet of water. Started the first drift, first cast… WHAM ! 22â€

Thanks for the feedbak guys-
Here are a few things I learned on this trip -
1. The limit on Sharks is one per person per boat.
2. When putting in or comming back to the lighthouse,
on a low tide, (with 17'or more of boat) you need
more than a 0.33 feet of low tide to be able to use
your motor.
3. Always be prepared to talk to the "Man" at any time.
4. Carry a pair of jeans and a long sleve shirt (Deer Fly Protection)
5. Carry your push pole (even if you don't think you'll need it.)
6. Even though it gets in the way, a landing net can be very useful.
(We lost two keepers trying to get them into the boat ..
)
Cooked for the Family- Blackened grouper in the pan....

Reb- Good to hear about your trip with your Dad
Those experiences will last a lifetime....
I had a pin-fish 60yds behind the boat under a bobber- no takers, not even a shark..
Guess he was too Big for the trout....
I believe all those "shorts" we were catching in April have grown-up and are ready for catching
Here is a shot of a big storm that skirted us during the day.... (this is looking back toward the lighthouse from the bird rack)

PS- Jim (at West Marine) let me swap-out my antenna mount for FREE
