Mark doesn't beat around the bush. I've bought a lot of stuff from charkbait and they always treated me good. got 2 avet reels and am really happy with them. Got my eye on the 2 speeds.

I also have a lot, probably 20 or more, shimino reels and I really like them. The stradic is probably the best for the money. The sustains are great and I love my calcuttas.

I have a few SHimanos and they are good reels. When they get to where they are not worth the price, they will have to lower it. Free market over here will decide that. I have yet to see much out of Japan that will last or perform as well as my 20 year old Penn Squidder. If Penn had put some 4.5-5:1 gears in the thing I would fish with it constantly. In fact, I would probably have 4 of them. Aside from a 69 lb AJ off Miami resulting in a spread spool, I have never had issue one. That is one reel that has never let me down.

From what I have read about this policy is that most other reels have the same policy, especially for their high end lines. To me its not ant-competitive, because those same reels compete with numerous other brands. If I sold things like that, I would not want one of my retailers constantly under pricing my other retailers. If that happened the other retailers would have two choices, sell it at lower profits or not sell it at all. And many would not see a reason to sell and support a $200 reel purchase if they did not make any money from doing so. So they would more than likely stop selling it and anyone who asked for one would be told that they are not worth the price and buy something else I do sell instead. Kinda like what is happening here.
