Cape San Blas next week

Post by pcbayou »

We're taking a mini-trip to San Blas for three days. Somewhere recently I saw a post with specifics on lures, etc. for the bay side (we'll be around Salt Works Cabins). But I can't find the post. Anyone want to volunteer what you know?

The bay is a mess right now. It has rained at St. Joe every day for about 3 weeks. The fishing is tough. But, if the rain lets up, those fish have to eat sooner or later. I would suggest a grub under a Cajun Thunder fished very slow. Look for broken bottom and fish the sandy spots. You might want to try topwater early. But, there is a lot of floating grass, more than I've ever seen.

Check with Eckley, at Presnell's. He'll give ya the latest information.

Good luck, and enjoy your trip.

Thanks, T.C. I was afraid the rain had left things ugly. I may have to break out the surf rods and try the gulf side. At least I won't be at work. :-D
