I actually launched at Port Panacea. Didn't wanna steal Wevans' parkin place.
Put in about 0830. Did a lot more lookin than fishin. The creeks got skinny about 1000, so I looked for some trout water. Fished the edge of a sand bar and caught maybe 10 short trout, 3 keepers, one being 21", and the largest gafftop Stockwell I've ever seen. Spent time riding and looking through the low tide. When the rising tide got back to 2 feet, I went exploring creeks again. Found several interesting places and caught a 16" needle fish. No reds today.
I found enough interesting stuff to spur my interest. Might have to take up permanent fishing residence over that way.
I told you catfish...nothing but catfish. Seems like retirement has been treating you a little better lately. I would show you my secret holes over there but I don't have any yet
Best way ta keep them holes secret, is ta never find em
So, ya done invaded my space have ya I reckon I'm just gonna have ta teach ya a thing or two bout fishin and run ya back outta there and I'll tell ya bout my secret fishin holes also, soon as I find some

I went out of the Lighthouse yesterday with my pastor, his son and RodBow Jr. Boy was it HOT... mirror calm, no breeze til probably noon. Off the water about 2:30. Very few trout, mostly shorts. Rodbow Jr caught a very nice 17 incher. One Blue, 3 or 4 sharks, and an absolute ton of sail cats...conservatively must have caught 35 or 40. where ever we went they were there. Only a couple of hard heads. Someone mentioned the other day about how much bait there is on the flats. I've only been fishing this area for just under 3 years but yesterday was definitely the record for bait pods. It looked like you could get out and walk on them. They were everywhere!!! Never did see anything chasing em but almost every fish we caught was spit'n out glass minnows when we got them to the boat. Saw one very large GATOR probably 4 or 5 hundred yards off shore. Never have seen one that far out before.
