Well two friends and I went to 60ft and limited out on red grouper (3) not happy throwing back legal size fish the reds were at every #we tried and only managed 1 gag at 26". The weather was awesome, the company was better , and the fillets were delicious
Yeah but with the shortage of Red Grouper and all , the man says you can't be catching that many because there aren't any. You'd think they'd realize they are plenty of them in our area with all the live bottom. So when they do their studies on the other side of the gulf and don't find any being caught it shouldn't be such a shock . Everything red is overprotected, why ? Good catch though , at least the ones you threw back pulled good.. f
It was definatly fun , what stunk was throwing back larger fish than the ones we already had on ice. Im gonna win the lotto wed nite and get me a pad over in cajun country
We went out the other day to 45 ft. and all we caught were red grouper. They hit everything from live pins to Ly's to cutbait. No gags were caught in 4 hours of fishing. Glad to know that there is a shortage of reds down there .....makes us feel special when we catch all the few ones down there like that
