Hitting in the Gheenoo

Post by finniefish »

Going out in the Gheenoo in the morning since the big boat is at Porters getting worked on. Launching at Wakulla beach and heading around Pattys and the bars. Forgot how small this thing is until I hooked it up to the truck. Better than not fishing. Good luck to to all tomorrow..... hope this full moon gives us some water flow and action.

Finniefish must of taken all there was in the water. Chris and I went out around 2:30pm. Man the tide was screaming out. We were drifting faster than the fish could swim. Except for two cats, nothing at all. Then again it was me who was out there and there could have millons of keepers right under the canoe.

The ghenoe is all you need if you like redfish. I always caught a lot more reds in canoes and kayaks than in boats. I still catch reds w/ a boat but not in the numbers I did in the yaks and canoes. In yaks and canoes, I used to even see reds tailing all the time and get close enough to reach out and practically touch the tails. I haven't seen tailing reds in the boat ever. Good luck!
