St Marks 9/2

Post by Reel Slow »

Hello, this is my first post on Big Bend, after alot of encouragement by birddog!

A friend and I fished west of st marks yesterday and while the water was murky we managed 2 keeper trout and 2 reds, one in the slot. Saw a monster tarpon breach fully out of the water, sea turtles and porpises. Fish were short striking alot all day, we almost always had some action, but many, many hits that just didn't take. We did play with topwater alot though!

Just wanted folks to know that there was zero sign of red tide.

Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Aucilla, the few we actually hooked were zaraspook and catch2000. Jigs accounted for several 14ners.... The reds were on spinnerbaits.

Reel Slow, you got it all wrong. I told you to tell everyone there was evidence of red tide everywhere at St. Marks. Now everyone is going to go and find out how good this late summer fishing can be.

Welcome aboard. Great 1st post. Hope to see more soon.
