Put in at the lighthouse and ran east in the dark. The tide was already low when first light came. I caught 1 pup red and a short trout fairy quick. Then things slowed down. I decided to stay in shallow on the low tide to see if I could get any indication of where the reds hold on a low tide. The tide chart called for a low of 1.2 feet this morning. That's low enough. Had it gotten any lower I would have sat on the bottom till the tide came back. But, I was able to pole around a little and managed a 26" red on a dead low tide, in less than a foot of water. After the tide turned I couldn't buy another bite. I started drifting for trout about 11:00. The wind had picked up and I wasn't able to see anything. I couldn't even tell where the bait schools were. Caught 15 or so short trout and 1 keeper at 18". Put it on the trailer and headed home around 3.
SWEET them thangs was kinda off after the daylight bite today I'm gonna see how them Bass are feeling on the lower Sopchoppy in the morning
