Got there shortly after 5 with a thunder-boomer whipping it up to the northeast.
Picked up a slot trout almost immediately on a Catch 2000, but got there so late in the tide that the bar was well exposed and the surrounding flat was too shallow to work a Catch 2000 without hanging in the grass. Switched to a TopDog Jr. and did nothing on that. Not a single strike.
Saw a nice double rainbow in the storm. A dim band with a much brighter band to the east of it. From where I was, it looked like the bright band was touching down in the marsh between Wakulla Beach and Graves Creek.
Switched to a 7M MirrOLure and started wading out. Got a couple hundred yards out and hip deep before I started catching short trout. Finally got one over the slot, but by now the sun was behind the trees and it was time to head for the hill.
Think I got there too late in the falling tide to really do much. A few trout, no reds, loads and loads of bait and bluecrabs around. One alligator that watched me for awhile, then headed on off to do alligator things.
Saw a cottonmouth in the road on the way home. Stopped the car and started to get out, but he must have recognized me. <EEEEK, IT'S THE GUY WITH THE WALKING STICK, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE>
