10/9 St. Marks- Finally

Post by Reel Fun »

Haven't been off shore since July  I was REEL happy to see the good weather on Sunday. Left Sheilds at 8, with my buddy Tom, picked up 3-4 dzn pin fish, and headed S.W. at 9:30. Stopped at 50 ft, nothing......went 5 miles south to 63 ft.....first 4 drops, 4 gags...1 keeper. :D in about 10 minutes....we decided to stay a while. Droped a chum bag, and put out a flat line on a spinner rod. Caught 2 more keepers to 26" on the bottom...then the flat line went off.....I can't believe it.....a 33", 17 lb gag :-D why he didn't rock me, I don't know....

Tom also caught a keeper on the flat line

We caught 2 more gags on the flat line, and serveral more on the bottom. The last fish on the bottom was another 17 lb gag, they made for a nice pair.....

We headed in with our 6 gags ( released about 10-12 shorts ), picked up one more just inside state waters  ....Had the wind and seas with us going out, and comming in. You couldn't ask for any better weather and seas.
Time on the water is NEVER wasted time.
