Rub Rail

Post by The Business »

Does anyone know to repair a rub rail or who to go to have one repaired? I have a section on my whaler that is bowed out and the white plastic strip hangs down. I've been unsuccessful in getting the rivets to pop back in.:hammer:

From what you have described, you have the aluminum rub rail with a vinyl insert. Remove the end caps on the transom. Pull the rub rail insert out. Where the rail is pulled loose, drill the loose rivets out. Move over 1" at each hole where you moved rivets, and drill new holes. Insert new rivets. Put the vinyl strip back in. Re install the end caps. You should be good to go.
What was I supposed to do today?
