St Marks 10/18

A colleague from Gainesville had to meet with me today. Luckily he likes to fish :-D so we met half way at the lighthouse

At the ramp he said he saw a young black bear cross the road on the refuge, about 150 pounder! Neat...

After attending to business and developing an agenda  we headed out. At 1:30 or so we stopped at a spot I eyed last week. A 4lb, fat 23"trout, an 18 and a 16 entered the cooler on the first drift.

We then went to a different spot and over the next 2 hours netted 6 reds and 2 more trout. Reds ranged from 22 to a 29" brute. Trout were just under 20".

He had a drive so we ended at high tide time about 4:30. Wind was relatively calm, but out of the SW today.

To say it was the most productive 3 hour business meeting I have had in years would be an understatement!
