Here is the report. In a nutshell, I am coming to believe I stink at fishing.

Weather was perfect. Had to wait on some water at the LH. Met some nice folks. NOaa was wrong. NOaa as in Capital one. NO we can’t be right. Winds were out of the NE until about 1000 and then were out of the S out less than 10KT until 1400. Seas were almost glass smooth. Temp 67. I headed to some inshore reefs at about 20 feet. Lots of structure, lots of fish on the FF(which I don’t trust). Perfectly anchored, Christmas tree on the machine. Had an LY, live pin, and squid hanging down there. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero, empty, nothing but air, sucking wind, sleeping, outsourcing, barking at the moon, wearing ladies underwear, barking up the wrong tree, brought a knife to a gun fight, etc., fill in your own analogy.

I headed south because it was smooth, almost to 24 and some good bottom. Good bottom and fish everywhere. Not a bite. Spent ~ 60 minutes there. Headed back to Wakulla Reef. Seas still flat. Sat on top of it. Nope. Pulled up the anchor and about 500’ due north of Wakulla R. #1 I saw the best bottom I have ever seen. Drifted north across it at .5 Kt. Nope, Nada. Even managed to hook some gray looking spongy bottom, but no fish. There was a nice guy I followed out of the LH canal in a 13" Whaler(yes Aucilla a 13" er) who disappeared somewher SE of 24. It was that nice and flat.

Headed back to the E. River. Shoot I should catch something? Sat on a trusted spot and quickly landed 3 DS’s. Time to go.

I threw everything. Howerver, it was really pretty out there.

Here is what I figure: I suck at fishing. I can put company on some fish, just not me. I figure I have about $150.00 to spend to have three folks to show me how to fish, cuz I am disappointed. After that – anobody wanna buy a FULLY loaded KW 1720 with very low hours?

I have had better days at work, even in Miami if you can believe that! RATS!!!!

Oh, and to top it off - my truck is broken down and left on the side of the road south of Woodville.

Nothing major on the truck, I just did'nt have a large enough socket to take the alt. pulley nut off, I think the shaft broke.

Any body up for a midweek trip on Thursday, 11/10 ? I had a partner lined up but it didn't work out.

Good Job db!! Thanks for doing everything you could with what you had to work with. :D You did pretty well at expressing some feelings that everybody on this forum has had at one time or another :-D

Were you able to determine the water temps at any of the spots??

Yes, the pinfish were still on the flats. Water temp at 1100 in 20' was 67. At 1400 in the E. River it was 71. There was a lot of water movement yesterday.

db, I'll give you $1500 for the boat AND ask you back out to go fishing in it! When do you want to get together?

We can go on the 10th and wash all that bad banana luck off, get the title and catch some fish too.
