I been cussing my Abus lately and loving my Shimano Curado, but there's a new Abu Garcia on the market with centrifugal brakes, the Record....I might have to go and give one a spin....

I've given Abu 20 years to build a reel that would cast a lure lighter than 1/2 oz. I'm stickin' with Shimano.

Good move. Chalk's a slow learner.
What was I supposed to do today?

Me thinks Me likes. Any word yet on the pricing yet.
Birddog, I have several Abu setups that cast very light lures. The problem is finding the right rod because some of them can be finnicky. I haven't switched to Shimano yet because I have to much invested in the Abu's. I guess I'll have to get me one soon enough though. I just hope it dosen't make me not want to fish with my Abu's anymore.

I've got a box full of 5500C's and 6500C's. Great reels and I occasionally still use them. Use the Calcutta's now.

After a couple of years of good service, I've cussed my Shimano Curado on the last 2 trips. Backlashing like crazy. :smt010

I used a Ambassador 4500c for years and years. Threw everything from a 1/8th once doll fly up to big popping plugs. Salt and fresh water, it didn't care. Then I bought a new 5000c...piece of crap. I might have to try the new ambassador! :-D

The Curado 200b5:1 is hard to beat in my book. Have owned two Abu Garcia's in my life and both were junk. I'll probably never own another. My next large inshore baitcaster may be one of the Quantum Cabo's though.
