Got to the ramp around 8:00. Good crowd already. Motored on out went east to some creeks. Man there was some traffic out there, boats parked in every creek mouth. We managed to get in afew. We used some shrimp grubs did just as well. Boated 11 keeper trout threw back several shorts along with some short reds. Couldn't find that keeper red. Not too bad in all. Me my wife and son. We headed in about lunch so we could go home and catch some football and cook the fish. Heres some pics
Nice haul ! Your right about the Saturday crowd though. We got a late start about 12:00, we had about 15 keepers & did manage 1 keeper red. All our fish came from about a 1.5 ft. Blue crabs were plentyful. You could dip net all you wanted. We stayed until the tide turned back in about 4 , most of the boats left and the fish really got going shallow on the flats. Had a great time !
We ended up about a mile closer to Rock Island than where you saw us. I did best on CT's with about a 18" leader. We had some really nice trout also. Caught a limit by myself on friday with Catch 2000's with a flounder but had to cast more for less fish and as far as size go's they were just as big or bigger with the cork. Kinda unusual but the way it worked out !
