I closed the book on 2005 today. Woke up at first light and went out to prep the boat. Trolling motor battery was fried so had to run to Wally World to get a free replacement . Finally got on the water at about 10:30 and the tide was still pretty low. Decided to fish some mud flats that were holding a few more degrees of warmth. I started seeing fish almost immediately. Most were pretty sluggish and not interested in eating. As the tide started to flood and the sun got higher the fish started to cooperate. Saw several big trout laid up in the real skinny water. Ended the day with a half dozen reds (20-25 inches) and a trout (24 inches).
Incredible set of fish and pics. I always enjoy seeing your pictures, for that matter anyone who post pictures of their catches. (IMHOP photographs are the best evidence of a really good day on the water) Looks like Dec 30 was a banner day for anyone with a fishing pole and some water.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. TC, let me know when you want those lessons, however, I will not be responsible for the ensuing addiction and expense .

Does this mean it will cost me more than $10 to rig up with a long pole?
I would like very much to go with you whenever we can work a trip.
You really make me miss living in the Gulf. During only my 18 month stay in Tally, I was able to take advantage of Lanark fishing bout 40 trips. I sure do miss it. Looks like I'm going to get to give it a try in late Feb when we go down and visit some friends.
