February Trip

My group of fly fishers is interested in a salt water trip in mid-Feb timeframe (Feb 14-17?). We're coming out of Huntsville, AL and would like to wadefish if possible. We do have small freshwater boats and canoes available.

What is our best opportunity, and location for that timeframe? There would be a max of 10 fisherfolk.

It is possible, if we get some warmer than normal weather in February, that you will be able to find reds and trout along the sawgrass edges of the flats around the Aucilla and Econfina. However, trout season is closed so you'll have to release those. Mid march is actually a better time and you could have a blast with the Spanish along the beaches.
