Ybnormal,

So you are the one that bought the 196 out from under me! I looked at the 196 pretty hard and decided, WOH, go ahead a give me the other two feet with the 216. It is somewhat decked out I guess. Took a large chunck out of my wallet but I got what I wanted. Still have a few gauges and other things that are going to be done to it as soon as they come in.

I only got to put the boat in the water a couple of times last week but man it is sweet. Beats the hell out of my bass tracker!

I can't remember, what size engine is on the 196? Did you have a T-top or a Bimini?

I didn't get your 196, I got the 186 instead because of limitations of my storage building. I only had 23'6" inside the building to get the boat inside. Even with the shorter boat, I had to pop for folding tongue trailer. I had to give up the t-top also, limitation of the rollup door, 11'. so I have the Bimini. Maybe a T later. The engine is the 115 4 stroke, I think I am going to like that, went by the boat place yesterday and they were running it for the first time, QUIET even out of the water. It's sure a lot quieter that the Merc that I had.

The folks at the dealership were still talking about your boat, I understand that with the E-tech 225 that it will bury the speedometer,,, do you know the top speed, MUST BE FAST!

Looking forward to this weekend, my new trailer should be in Friday, and I can pick up the new ride. Still have some rigging to do, but we should be able to bundle up and take her for a ride.

If you tell your wife you're naming the boat after her, and paint that on your boat, how about letting us know when the swelling goes down, and your eyes open back up. :smt005

My boat has a bimini also. I use the boat for pleasure cruising as well as fishing and the bimini gives me more shade for four people. I have a lot of fun just tooling around and exploring.

I keep it in the backyard with a custom cover. No building to put it in. The boat sure looks a lot bigger in my yard than it did at the dealership among the other boats.

I'd bet that 4 stroke 115 will take you for a ride also. I had a 115 optimax on my tracker and it would run around 50mph fully loaded with two adults. The optimax was a quiet motor but I believe the 225 E-tech is more quiet. Its amazing. You can barely here it when you are sitting there idling.

No idear what the top speed is. Scott and I took it out for a test drive before I bought it. The speedometer registers 60mph and with no extra weight, very little fuel and the two of us it pegged the speedometer in just a few seconds. Sort of scared me. You had better be holding on when you hit the throttle. I am not really into the speed on the water but I like the POWER to get up on plane quickly. On the lake last week with two adults, full load and 55 gals of fuel I pushed it up to 55mph and still had quite a bit of throttle left. I like a cruisin speed around 45 mph. Later this summer after I have a fews hours in it, a little more confidence in handling, smooth water conditions, and there is just me in the boat I will probably push it and see what the gps records the speed at just out of curiosity.

You will definitely need to bundle up this weekend. Its going to be a little bit nippy saturday and even colder on the water. Just wear several layers and tough it out. One of the drawbacks of buying a boat in the winter. Its hard getting a new boat and not having good weather to take it out in but warmer weather is just around the corner. YeeHaa

How did you like dealing with the folks at Huggins?

Do you live in albany? I actually live in albany and my business is in baconton.

Email me, boria@winchesterwoodworks.com . We will have to get together and compare rides one day.

This Weekend

Boria

I was nice to meet you on the river this weekend, It's a little weird that we keep running into each other. DON'T Worry, that boat look looks plenty good sitting in the water, Looks good on plane too! I hope that they can sort out that sensor issues soon, I hate that when it happens. I looked thru some other posts on the Internet today and found two other people reporting the same type of problem. For them it turned out to be a short in the wiring harness, evidently there is a pinch point somewhere that comes into play when the motor is tilted up. You might want to search for that and talk to the tech about it. ANYWAY good luck I hope they fix it soon.

I am looking forward to this next weekend, Thanks to ML it's a three day weekend and I think I just might introduce my boat to some salt spray. I talked to my brother-in-law last night and they are tearing them up on the intercostal over at Jacksonville. I think a road trip may be in order. I will let you know if the boat gets to smelling fishy. I am counting on it. :-D

Thanks YB-Normal

PS, Thanks to everyone for all the good name suggestions, I think the Wife has spoken, ( you know how that works),,

I think the boat name is going to be a play on our last name, "Morey"

It's AMorey :smt007

Don't name your boat that! I catch enough remorey's without a name that attracks them! They will suck to the back of your boat for sure and case all the fish away.

If your wife changes her tune:
