Mashes Sands 1/4/06

Post by TheTotalPackage »

Saw the earlier report of no fish off mashes sands and haven't a clue what they speak of. Last trip out was fantastic (Heck, the last 10 were good). 18 Gags landed, 3 over 30", 6 Kept, a number of keepers released. There is nothing wrong with the water... When the red tides were reported to have come in to our area, I heard stories of dead fish all over the bottom at the K, however when fishing there the next weekend, we hauled in a dozen nice grouper and had a bout with one of the resident giant barracuda. Heading out again this weekend, will report back.

We started in 60 and came back to 50 caught half west of K and the other half out of O bay. FYI, 2 hours at K with 0 bites. Never had that happen before.

They do seem to be either located different this year or just aint feeding like usual. But we marked very few fish on what should have been some good spots also :smt012
