He went without me....

Post by Jumptrout51 »

My brother went to the flats today. I on the other hand had to work. Actually he went to Secret Creek. He and his fishing partner brought back 2 limits of trout from 17-22,and 2 reds at 23 and 25.
He said they caught and released fish all day.
That'll teach me to work on a fishing day. :(

How did you find our Secret Creek?

Post by Mr Flats »

I thought it was secret.... ;-)

This weekend I took the whole family to our secret tidal creek where we like to go. We went up farther than we ever have before (farther than I have previously dared...). After going through a narrow bend where I normally turn around it opened up and the bottom dropped out - plus the fish were every where. I was very excited. As we inched up this newly discovered area I noticed something big move up ahead of us. Next thing I know my wife is on the drivers seat pushing me out of the way yelling :smt014 at the kids to get in the boat - which they were :smt017 and for me to get us out of there. What we had seen slide into the water was a 12-15 gator :o It was huge!!!

Needless to say we left and fought the crowd on the river above the power plant....

In the end we all had a great day.

"Wally"

Wally really got my wifes attention :o thats for sure!

He better leave our gator trout alone or he'll have to deal with my kids :hammer:

The coast where we live really is awesome. As I posted in this thread we saw the rather large gator on this trip and last trip we saw a VERY large wild hog in the St Marks preserve. We regularly see dolphins, have seen eagles, have seen a couple of manatees and on top of all that we get to have quality time on the water with family and friends and occasionally we even take home some fish for dinner :smt041

Nice report even if ya didn't go JT.
And a nice gator tale Mr Flats. Next time ya feel like a little solitude just tell her that's where ya going and you'll have the boat to yourself..
