Congratulations to the 2/7'ths of entries that placed!
I'm just plum proud to be able to rub elbows with the cream of the crop like TC, Chalky and the Taylor brothers and their mate. I just got to listen and look and learn some more... like Buds picture a few weeks ago - just being in the company of greatness is of great value!!

Proud to to weather the conditions with my partner, Amanda and be able to get back to the hill in one piece. I'll be practicing with the GPS and we'll be givin you a run for the money at some point in the future.

Goober collected the prize money,Gomer cooked the vittles.
Gomer sat on the fishing hole,Goober had to sit on the fishing hole.
I think Gomer caught most of the fish,I don't know if Goober gave him any of the winnings.

Let's just say I was donating baits to the front of the boat again, cause the front couldn't get a bite....Best I can tell the lure we were catching with was a new 2006 Texas Tackle Factory color...If you come to Social I'll show you a pack, maybe you will win a pack...

and I gave him the winnings, he gave me enough back to tease my gas tank :o

RB on tournament day you have to be willing to do what we did. Go where you think the fish are, stay there as long as necessary and get out to pull the boat back to floatable water when you need to. If you do this and still don't win,you know you gave it your best. No matter what...only one team wins. All the others have stories to tell.
One thing I have seen from my association with this club is that all the members who have participated in the tournaments have become better fishermen.
It comes from what you and SR have said: watch, listen, ask, learn.
Everyone there is dying to tell their secrets...just not their secret holes.

I'll freely admit that Goober caught most of the fish. On tournament day, it's a team effort. I don't care who catches the fish. This is not to say he caught all of the fish, just most of them. And, I did grab one or two of his baits.

Rodbow, thanks for the compliment. But Jumptrout hit the nail on the head. Every one that fishes these tournaments is willing to help others. And keep using that GPS. If GPS had failed Saturday, we would still be out there running circles in the fog.
What was I supposed to do today?

I'll take the 50/50 most anytime but the odds would have been less on success if you left the creek
-but I'm sure Tin Can already explained that.

Good reports. Sometime you just have to wait 'em out, and obviously that worked for TC and Chalk.
