Heading over for 4 days next week, never fished there but its bout time to drag the boat around.. any tips for locations, baits??? Bob Sikes Cut? The Bridge for Sheepie?
thnks
The old bridge shold have some sheepies, I think the deep ends are better, I talked with a man last Feb. that caught some off the end of it on St. George side. I've only been to Sikes Cut once and the water got mighty rough that day.
I got a 18 foot tunnel hull flats boat, I guessed I would launch at the end of the bridge on the SGI side but not sure... can i load back up on a slack tide???? I can launch anywhere, I just wanna catch fish!
If you launch at the second ramp inside the state park you can catch fish in the creek the ramp is in. Use your bottom machine, find the holes, and fish slow.
You're probably going to have problems launching or loading before mid day all weekend. Winter tides.
any ramps close i can put inand run around or to the island area/putin at ??? apalach>east point\??? I wanna fish all day, taking fatehr and brother in law and gotta put them on some fish
You can always launch and load at the Apalach ramp. It's a 7 mile run from Apalach to the cut. The State Park is on the east end of the island. If you launch from the park, launch at the second ramp. I've launched once at the island end of the bridge. Won't do it again. There's a lot of water down there. Depends on where you want to fish, and what you're fishing for.
Last info I had was the SGI state park road is closed just past the scout camp and before you get the the boat ramp. That was as of about 3 weeks ago..
