St. Marks 2/13/06 Redfish Skunk

Post by birddog »

Launched from the Fort around 10:30 and started fishing the Wakulla River. Picked up a decent 3lb. bass on a spinnerbait. Then headed down to the East river. Should've stayed in the Wakulla and chased the bass. Didn't catch or even see a redfish all day. Saw plenty of mullet and 6 coons but no reds.

Tough day, froze my arse off for sure, but can't wait til next time.

We fished East River a few weeks ago and saw a white deer. Don't guess you saw it.

Well you didn't say how many fish the coons were getting but then they never go by the limit any ways

They appeared to be on a shellfish diet. Must have left the canepoles at the house.

JT---didn't see a white deer, but I'd like to.

The 'ole sit in one spot and wait for something to swim by. Now that's 'ole time fishin' there.
Wait a minute. If I recall we had some tournament fishermen do that recently.
Didn't we?

I thought about it, but I remembered I didn't have a canepole, a straw hat, a 5 gal. bucket or any crickets.

You shoulda got you one of them coons. Throw a piece of cut mullet out there and you can work 'em right back to the boat just like a crab. Cooked right, they're pretty good :-D
