Look at this picture and tell me why I should wear a PFD. Its a little blurry because of the FOG.

I don't know, it's kind of fuzzy. What am I missing? All I see is somebody in a 'yak in a light chop.

It does look like a fun wave to play on, though. He's in just the right position to catch the shoulder, too. :D

Lets just say it didn't turn out well. I have pictures of the results from a local writer, but I promised not to post the rest til after this weekend. A boater did pull a rescue on me and I paddled back to the truck after getting soaked in 42 deg water from head to toe. I only spent about 5 minutes in the water getting pounded by waves and I mean IN the water. Glad I had those waders on cause it climbed to 63 deg in the air that day and I could have been fooled into going out lite.

Suber, We need to keep a PFD on because anything can happen quick -but around here a wave like your's we'd have to travel to find.

Hope everything turned out okay. I'm guessing it went fairly well, since you're still here to tell us about it.

The only reason I would have been out in conditions like that is specifically to play in the waves. :-D

Why was I heading out, well I was in NC but having no luck and three other club members were having luck in this area, when I got there I saw this... and headed out. I only had to get past one of those whopper waves, but my timing was off.

The ret of the story...

When you see the birds diving, the water is 43 deg F, a fog is rolling in, and you friends are calling you out to join in on catching 35lb + Stripers, listen to your intuition. Don't go.
