Hello great site you got here
Well I've been following this site, cause I am looking at property in the Keaton Beach area. Seem like there is alot of positive people here. I am in the fishing business in Canada so I know sometime fishin is not always catchin but it seem like somebody is always willing to help put a guy on some fish. I wonder if someone could give me some advise about the Keaton area and any lead s on a place to look for a lot.
Thanks

an acre around keaton beach is running around $60K right now... that's in the Leisure Retreats/Yates Creek area. By comparison, 2 years ago, you could buy the same lots for $5-10K... try the links from http://www.keatonbeach.org to see what's available... but beware some of the realtors.
also, you can get lots in the cedar island area for about the same price-they come at a price, which is much more extensive building restrictions. There, you are in the flood zone, but also mostly within spitting distance of the water.

Hey guys thanks alot, I'm heading to St. Pete FLA. tomorrow my son is in the U. S. Coast Guard and his boat is getting underway this is his first time out. Then I'm heading up to keaton to take a look around wish I could do some fishing while I'm there. But I gotta head over to Sebastain to see my mom I'm sure I'll wet a line there, I hide some rods up in her attic. One more ? can you get some oysters around Keaton I havn't had any since I left Carrabelle?

Frankly, I would chose Steinhatchee over Keaton for a lot of reasons (restaurants, stores, choice, river as well as flats, etc, etc). I owned a lot at Steinhatchee, held it for 2 years and tripled my money. You can find some "reasonable" lots off of the water at Steinhatchee. Nothing on the water is "reasonable" anymore.
Roy Deals on 98 out of Perry is closest and best place for raw oysters in the area. One of the restaurants in Steinhatchee may be selling them, although they were always sporadic about it.
Good luck
