I believe I may have caused a little confusion reviving this old post ( check the posting date). I did indeed see trout on the flats today. However they were all over the 20" mark and I don't think that is all that uncommon. I firmly believe a large majority of big trout spend the winter on the flats and never seek the warmth of the creeks and rivers. I didn't see any small trout today on the flats, while I'm sure there are some around, sping hasn't sprung just yet.

If it were'nt for the OLD TIMERS you young'uns wouldn't know where to fish or what to catch them on.
I might even let you fish with me one day so that you can pass on to the young'uns when you become one of the OLD TIMERS.
In fact I'm going to fish with Sir Reel soon.But, that would just be a OLD TIMER fishing with an OLDER TIMER.
