NOAA is predicting 2ft or less for Saturday and I've got a spare day, so anyone have suggestions for the best bets out of Carrabelle or Apalach. Are the grouper still in the 30'-50' water or should we look for structure in the 90'-120' range?
I'm still learning the Big Bend terrain, so I could use all the help possible, thanks.

Would you be willing to share your location for Quail Hunting? If it was public land, I would certainly be interested in hearing more about it.
30' to 50' is a fairly large range for me. Any idea if it were closer to 30 or closer to 50? I can and have fished in 30 to 40 ft with my 19 carolina skiff but the bottom falls off so gradually that moving from say 35' to 50' could involve several miles of travel. Because of time and fuel capacity I would not want to run out to 30 or 35 just to discover that the fish are well beyond. I would be going out of St. Marks or East in one of the rivers.
You could easyly get to 50 if ya put in at Lanark or Carrabelle I do it with my 17.5 Bass boat when the winds are right

Thanks for your response. I hate to display so much ignorance here but could you give me an estimate on how long it would take to reach the launch sites you are speaking of from Tallahassee? Thanks.
We buy farm raised quail and release them on leased land. Planted pines, dove field, etc. Lots of work since the bears tear up the call back boxes, so you have to find the covey for fun! We killed 30 Saturday.
AAAAGGGGGG, I just spent 30 minutes answering your question SIR, and the damn server timed out on me This one will be shorter, you can launch at Mashes Sands "about an hour from Tally" and add around 5 miles one way to your boat trip ta get in front of Dog Island Go to Lanark "about 1 hour and 20 minutes" and just shoot around the flats and be running out ta sea right past Dog Island "it can get shallow at low tide" Or go to Carrabelle and put in at one of the numorous boat ramps there and run out between Dog Island and St, George Island "the ramps there can be deadly to your trailor" from what I have heard Good Luck

Mashes Sands... that location is on the east/north??? side of Ochlockonee bay isn't it?? If its where I think you mean I know the location and from some talk going around I understand the public ramp was upgraded last year? Thanks again for "hang'n in there with me"
Ya got it, left at the light in Ochlocknee Bay "Oak's Resturant", there is not much parking at the moment due to the dredging still going on in the canal, so get there early if ya don't want ta park on the side of the road
